MACHINERY DESIGN OVERVIEW

OYD offers several different levels of detail for machinery and systems packages. Our methodology is not new, it is actually patterned after the U. S. Navy. OYD has many years of experience designing and engineering machinery and shipboard systems on navy craft.

We offer three levels for machinery design and four levels for system design. This identifies the level of detail and budget desired by each client.

MACHINERY LEVEL 1: Basic 2D design and layout of machinery arrangements with all major equipment identified and located. Basic shaftline arrangement and engine mounting. Basic steering gear layout and arrangement.

MACHINERY LEVEL 2: Comprehensive 2D design and layout of all machinery spaces with all components identified and located. A detailed parts list is included with the equipment list.

MACHINERY LEVEL 3: A full 3D model is generated for the machinery and equipment spaces. Another option is a LIMITED LEVEL 3, selecting difficult areas to model, whereas a 3D model is most beneficial to optimize space.
